Commercial in-plane cell stretcher
We use a commercial cell stretcher (from Curi Bio) to study the effect of uniaxial stretching on endothelial cultured tissues
Homebuild microfluidic and milifluidic stretchers to couple shear flow and stretching
Microfluidic approach
We develop a new device composed of an upper thin PDMS membrane that can stretch when the channel is pressurized, leading to a uniaxial stretching of the cell layer. Moreover when a difference of pressure is applied at the channels entrances a the cells can also be submitted to a shear stress.
Milifluidic approach
We are building a milimeter scale thin walled cylindrical channel for cell culture capable of streching and shearing cells in an enclosed environment.
